Baden-Powell chose Saint George to be the patron Saint of Scouting. He felt that the Saint George legend set a good example of faith, courage and perseverance for future generations. St George’s Day is celebrated on the 23rd April, and around this time Scouts will hold some form of celebration.
This year 4th Bolsover Scout Group, and all of the Scouting Groups in East Scarsdale District will gather to parade and celebrate together in Clowne.
28th April 2019
We will meet and form the parade at ‘The Arc’ Leisure Centre on High Road in Clowne at 1.45pm.
The parade will move off at 2pm to march into Clowne, past Tesco and then down Mill Street, back up to High Road and then up Boughton Lane to arrive at the Heritage High School for around 2.40pm.
The service will be held in the Main Hall at Heritage High and we hope to end at 4pm.
Light refreshments will be served after the service.
The event will end at 4.45pm.
If you would prefer to park at Heritage High, the car park will be open and available to use. You can then walk down Boughton Lane to The Arc to join the parade.
